About Us

Eastern part of the Ahmedabad has historically lagged behind the western region in terms of development and access to basic amenities including avenues of higher education. It was with this perspective that the institute was set up on 6th September, 2004 as a part of the efforts to narrow down this divide and also to provide the students belonging to the eastern region, access to education leading to Bachelor’s degree in the discipline of management. The college had its humble beginning in the premises of Ramakrishna Krishna Vidyalaya, Maninagar with just 45 students and a few faculties deputed from other Government colleges. Soon, realizing that a college in the school premises would not be feasible in the long run, we got shifted to our present location which was formerly known as Bihari Mill Compound. During the academic year 2005- 06, the college got affiliated to Gujarat University and was subsequently named Government B.B.A College. The foundation stone of the present college building was laid on 29th June, 2006.

Motto

Government B.B.A College, is affiliated to Gujarat University. It has been active for spreading management education in the Eastern region of Ahmedabad. While designing curricula, various statutory bodies of the Gujarat University are concerned about balancing the encroachment of higher education and local sociology-economic developmental demands. In the radiance of this outlook, the College has set motto as: Jnanad Vindam Gauravam (Dissemination of knowledge) which is mentioned in the college emblem.
